Pipelined: Documenting the Dakota Access Pipeline Protests

Amidst growing rumors of violence in opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline, I traveled to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation near Canonball, North Dakota, to photograph a camp of 1,500 demonstrators and activists who oppose the construction of the pipeline in addition to demonstrations held near the site of the pipeline construction. Later, protesters traveled to the North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck and held demonstrations to voice their opposition to the pipeline project.
